Mesa Street climbs the whole way from Coronado's older, settled blocks near the mountain out to the fresher streets by Resler and Redd Road, and the two ends of that stretch keep us busy for different reasons. Up toward the foothills we're more likely pulling a tired swamp cooler off a roof, hauling away a trampoline the kids grew out of, or clearing a storage shed packed with tools and decorations nobody's touched in years. Down where the newer subdivisions start, the calls lean toward broken-down moving boxes, a mattress swapped out after a relocation, and whatever mismatched furniture gets left behind once a family finishes settling in. A good number of these streets climb sharply enough that the truck stays parked at the bottom of the hill while the crew carries everything down by hand, rather than risk a switchback turn or clip a low retaining wall. Pool-area teardowns are common up here too — old liners, pumps, and filter housings that come out during a backyard remodel. Anything that still has use left in it skips the landfill and goes first to a reuse partner on the West Side.
